After bringing the house down with Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F at the Florida orchestra, the renowned Canadian pianist and composer will return for the fourth time to Rio de Janeiro, taking this stellar performance to Brazil with Orquesta Sinfonica Brasileira on 23 September 2011.

“On Saturday, July 30, Stewart Goodyear, a rising star among Canadian pianists, who has made multiple appearances as a soloist with top tier orchestras in both Canada and the US, including six with the Philadelphia Orchestra, performs Beethoven’s Tempest [Sonata in D minor Op. 31 #2] and Waldstein [Sonata in C major Op. 53] sonatas, and then joins the Gould String Quartet in Brahms’ Piano Quintet, Op. 34.

Back from the UK, Stewart Goodyear Wows Crowds and Critics!

Setting the stage for his vibrant presentation of more than 20 appearances to date in 2011, virtuoso composer and concert pianist Stewart Goodyear demonstrated his technical and expressive gusto during concerts in the UK.

On 9 January 2011 GRAHAM RICKSON theartsdesk.com applauded Stewart’s performance with the National Youth Orchestra, led by Kristjan Järvi. Of Mr Goodyear’s delivery of Liszt’s Totentanz in Leeds Town Hall he wrote: “This was riveting, transcendent stuff, and the most uplifting evening I’ve spent in a concert hall for years... Stewart Goodyear’s technique dazzled with every note brightly, clearly audible, and it was a pleasure to see so many of the orchestra grinning...”

 

Double debut honors for Canada’s Stewart Goodyear at Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra’s Music Hall, 25 & 26 March 2011.

Canada’s Stewart Goodyear will entertain music lovers in the city of Cincinnati with the debut of his latest composition - a fanfare entitled Count Up. The concert entitled Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra: JOY.LOVE.LIFE. will be performed on Friday 25 March and Saturday 26 March at the CSO’s 3,419-seat Music Hall home. Later in the programme, the multifaceted Mr. Goodyear will present the music of Bach and Messiaen on a new Steinway grand piano - a double debut and an honor for Stewart Goodyear.
